Multimedia Victoria - China Trade Mission

Victorian Government ICT Trade Missions to China


Multimedia Victoria is currently seeking expressions of interest from Victorian headquartered ICT companies that are interested in participating in trade missions to China. It is anticipated that Multimedia Victoria will lead a series of highly targeted group missions into China over a three year period between 2009 and 2011.

An assessment of the submissions will be conducted according to the following guidelines. Successful applicants will be notified and proceed to a second stage interview.

Guidelines



Eligibility
  • Export ready Victorian ICT companies that have a strong interest in doing business in China, and have an appropriate product and/or service
  • A commercial company based and headquartered in Victoria
  • A company working primarily in the ICT sector
  • An export plan (including your strategy for the China market)

Merit Criteria
  • Experience in doing business in China and sound understanding of the market
  • A product and/or service with strong export potential
  • Commitment to a longer-term export strategy

Background



The Victorian State Government is committed to promoting the State's strengths in key sectors at the Shanghai World Expo in May 2010.

On behalf of the Victorian State Government, Multimedia Victoria aims to leverage the opportunities presented by the Shanghai World Expo, and develop a trade development program around the event. Multimedia Victoria's main objectives are to promote Victoria’s innovative ICT products and services to the China market, and showcase the benefits of Victoria as a location for ICT business.

Multimedia Victoria has already gained considerable experience in taking Victorian ICT to the world, and understands the importance of tailoring products and services to a particular target market.
