Putting public transportation where it belongs
A new on-line tool detailing how, where and why Victorians travel - VISTA 07 - is being launched this week by Victoria’s Department of Transport (DoT).
ISTA 07 (Victorian Integrated Survey of Travel and Activity for 2007) is a Web 2.0-based data analysis and visualisation system based on Space-Time Research’s SuperVIEW software. VISTA 07 is an example of a Government 2.0-type of initiative, making vast amounts of travel-related data available for public engagement for the first time.

SP AusNet Selects GT’s FMC Solution to Manage the Rollout of Smart Meters on its Network
Geomatic Technologies (GT), a leading provider of workforce management solutions, has announced that its Field Mobile Computing (FMC) solution has been selected to manage the rollout of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) smart meters across SP AusNet's network in Victoria. The smart meter rollout project is a collaborative project involving the Victorian government, electricity businesses and consumer groups and aims to help people better manage their energy use and cut carbon emissions.
GT’s FMC solution will allow SP AusNet to manage all aspects of the AMI smart meter roll-out including preliminary site inspections, meter exchanges, stock management, progress reporting, and customer communication. With FMC, SP AusNet will be able to allocate work orders to contractors and monitor their progress against defined targets.

Aconex selected for $82m Hutt Hospital expansion
Technology firm Aconex has been selected by the Hutt Valley District Health Board (Hutt Valley DHB) and architecture firm Klein Limited to provide its online information management solution to the NZ$82 million expansion of Hutt Hospital in Lower Hutt.

Aconex selected for NZ$500 million Auckland rail project
Technology firm Aconex has been selected by New Zealand rail operator ONTRACK to provide its online collaboration system to the NZ$500 million (US$283m) project to electrify Auckland’s metro rail system. The system will be used to manage information across the project and link the public and private parties involved in the development.
