| Media release - 10 May 2007 |
| Minster for Information and Communication Technology, Tim Holding, today launched the inaugural Victorian Government Technology Market Reports 2007 – the first of its kind in Australia. The Report, developed by Dandolo Partners in collaboration with the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), is now on sale to industry, giving them unprecedented detail on upcoming Victorian Government ICT contracts, worth more than $1 billion. “Information is the key to successfully engaging with Government and this report will mean a better informed marketplace, saving time and money all round,” Mr Holding said. “This report is worth 12 months of marketplace research and will enable businesses to better plan for upcoming projects; become familiar with key decision-makers within Government; and ascertain emerging policy priorities. “We understand that the sheer size and the number of projects underway can prove daunting and confusing for companies wishing to pitch for business. “The Government Market Reports build on Government ICT symposia and workshops, offering a more in-depth look at upcoming projects. “This is another milestone in the crusade for a more efficient government – building on the success of the eServices Panel which has saved more than $37 million by making it easier for industry to deal with Government,” Mr Holding said. Based on more than a year’s research, the report is available in a number of versions, tailored to the different needs of small or larger businesses. The Report’s author, Bronte Adams, of Dandolo Partners, said the Report was written to help companies develop and prioritise opportunities presented by Government projects “The report will help businesses understand opportunities that exist to work with Government and to formulate a strategy to give their pitch the most impact,” Dr Adams said. AIIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Sheryle Moon, said: “The Report will help companies, particularly small to medium enterprises to strategically target the best opportunities and ensure their bids are based on the best information to give them the best chance of success.” |
