Kenexa Opens New Office in Melbourne

Kenexa, a global leader in using award-winning technology to improve human resource management in the workplace, today announced the opening of a new office in Melbourne.
Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Theo Theophanous welcomed the new investment in the state, saying Victoria was the ideal location for Kenexa's global expansion.
"The Brumby Government continually strives to provide the best business environment for global companies such as Kenexa to invest and expand and this latest announcement is further proof that strategy is paying off," Mr Theophanous said.
"The state's ICT industry leads the nation with next generation IT solutions, a buoyant economy, highly-skilled ICT workforce and a strong research and development focus.
"It's great to see technology applied to human resources management – enabling companies to find more suitable employees more easily, and helping employees to progress their careers thanks to advances in technology.
"Victoria is well-positioned to conduct business throughout the Asia Pacific region, as well as into European and American markets.
"By opening the new office in Melbourne, Kenexa increases its existing presence in the Asia Pacific region, which is experiencing a significant boom in human resources management."
General Manager of Kenexa Australia, Jeff Wigney, said the company was delighted to have opened operations in Melbourne.
"Asia Pacific is a key part of Kenexa's growth globally and this new operation in Victoria creates a number of exciting opportunities, including generating eight new jobs with further growth planned in 2008 and beyond," Mr Wigney said.
"Kenexa serves more than 150 companies in the Fortune 500. Our newest location in Melbourne provides employee assessment, talent management, recruitment process outsourcing, employment branding, employee surveying, performance management and HR analytics."
In 2007, revenue for the Victorian ICT industry was approximately $24.4 billion, reflecting an average annual growth rate of six per cent.
Underpinned by the Victorian Government ICT Industry Plan 2005-2010, the Brumby Government strongly supports the local ICT industry, encouraging growth and participation on a global level.
