More ICT Growth in Victoria with TechnologyOne

Media release - 18 October 2006

Local software company TechnologyOne is set to expand its workforce by 20 in order to keep pace with demand, said Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Marsha Thomson.

"As Victoria's lucrative niche software solutions sector continues to grow, companies such as TechnologyOne are recruiting to keep up with business.

"TechnologyOne will employ up to 20 ICT professionals over the next 12-18 months to work across a client base in education, financial services, health, utilities, managed services and government agencies.

"The expansion of TechnologyOne is a further testament to Victoria as Australia's premier ICT state, and is reflective of the bigger picture," Minister Thomson said.

"Our ICT sector contributes $23 billion per annum to Victoria, with $1 billion in exports. So the expansion of our high-quality ICT companies is the mark of a sector that is making both a significant contribution locally and inroads into global markets,' said Ms Thomson.

"As an ICT company wishing to make a mark on not only the local business sector, but the world stage, we have found Victoria to be an excellent location," said TechnologyOne Executive Chairman Adrian Di Marco.

"It has a high-performing business community, which means our client base is robust, and this gives us lucrative opportunities to build strong links into global customer bases."

"As our ICT sector develops the products and services that earn it a global reputation for excellence, the Government must continue to support this entrepreneurial spirit with strategic initiatives," Ms Thomson said.

"Two such initiatives are the highly successful
ICT Trade Events and Assistance Export Program and Emerging Market Strategies Program, which help local companies’ entry into the global market. And on the home-front, our ICT Linkages Program promotes the development of ICT clusters to foster collaboration."
