New guide for ICT professionals considering migration to Victoria

The Victorian Government today released its first guide specifically designed to assist ICT professionals looking to migrate to Victoria, Australia.

Working in Victoria: ICT Opportunities provides overseas ICT professionals with information on the local ICT landscape, professional recognition available and employment services in the state.

Victoria is considered a world leader in creating and fostering a culture of first-class innovation and technology sectors. Combined with Victoria’s leadership position in ICT, the local ICT industry continues to build upon its strengths to deliver more jobs and economic benefits for Victorians.

Opportunities exist in Victoria for ICT professionals with specialisations in CISSP, C++/C#/C, data warehousing, Java, J2EE, Linux, .Net technologies, network security/firewall/ internet security, Oracle, People Soft, SAP, SIEBEL, Solaris and Unix.

Victoria’s ICT industry generates $26.2 billion in annual revenue and exports more than $2.4 billion in products and services. Since 1999, the Victorian Government has invested $3.39 billion into innovation and technology, more than any other Australian state government.
