The world's most significant technical and commercial advances taking place in the global optical communications industry are on show this week in San Diego, California, and Victorian companies are there.

The Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (OFC/NEOEC) provides fantastic opportunities for our talented local companies and researchers to share technical knowledge, explore new ideas and network with suppliers and telcos from across the globe.

Victoria is known for its capabilities in testing and super fast optical fibre interfaces and the Victorian Government is pleased to foster the continued growth of this sector.

The Victorian Government is providing financial support for local companies attending the making the trip to the OFC/NEOEC this year through its

ICT Trade Events and Export Assistance program. The funding is designed to support export-ready local companies travel to some of the world's most prestigious international ICT trade events.

Last year's Victorian trade mission to the OFC/NEOEC attracted more than $10 million in international investment for the state.
