Victoria leads the way for Australian ICT at CommunicAsia

Securing exports, investment and collaborative projects will be the order of the day for a Victorian-dominated Australian ICT trade delegation heading to the CommunicAsia Trade Fair in Singapore this week.

In its 20th year, CommunicAsia 2009 is the key international communications and information technology exhibition and conference in the Asia Pacific region.

CommunicAsia is recognised as the most significant ICT exhibition in South East Asia and it provides an important opportunity for Victoria to secure vital exports and promote its ICT capabilities to the region.

Eighteen Victorian ICT companies are attending the event, with companies covering areas including cable solutions, conferencing, eSecurity software, fibre optics, mobile applications, mobile TV, satellite solutions, SMS solutions and telecommunications equipment.

This year is the biggest Victorian ICT delegation to attend CommunicAsia and it is considered an excellent opportunity for Victorian companies to build their contacts and business dealings within the vital Asia Pacific region.

The state of Victoria is the centre of Australia’s ICT industry. It generates annual revenues of A$26.2 billion, with A$2.4 billion of this coming from overseas operations and exports.

CommunicAsia attracts ICT representatives from 89 countries. In 2009 the exhibition will feature 1,500 exhibiting companies and more 67,000 industry professionals are expected to attend.
