Hi-tech Kew company eB2Bcom has cemented its spot in Victoria’s burgeoning ICT industry, highlighted by the official opening of its new Melbourne head office by the Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Theo Theophanous.
Specialising in security and identity management software development, Mr Theophanous said eB2Bcom is proof that the Victorian ICT industry is heading in the right direction, with the company growing from a small business into a thriving global enterprise in just over a decade.
“The Brumby Government supports local Victorian businesses such as eB2Bcom in developing and selling into global markets and eB2Bcom is testimony to the unlimited potential local companies can achieve on an international level,” Mr Theophanous said.
“With a new head office in Melbourne and supporting offices throughout Australia and in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, eB2Bcom is now planning to further expand into China, Japan, Taiwan and India.”
At the core of its success is eB2Bcom’s View500 Identity Server. Designed and developed in Victoria, this advanced software platform provides organisations with a fast, scalable and flexible identity management infrastructure solution.
The Victorian Government utilises View500 in its Rosetta White Pages Directory Project and recently, Bayside Health’s Alfred Hospital adopted View500 as their staff directory solution to be used as a key data repository for identity management initiatives.
Sales of View500 have also been made to the Australian and Singapore Governments.
Chief Executive Officer of eB2Bcom, Bob White, said the Victorian Government’s support has played a pivotal role in gaining exposure on a global level.
“We participated in three of the Victorian Government’s sponsored trade missions – twice to China and once to India. Being part of the State delegation provided validation in the foreign market, which has been a key factor in building strong business relationships,” Mr White said.
The Brumby Government’s ICT Trade Events and Export Assistance Program is making it possible for home-grown ICT companies to showcase their products and services at some of the most prestigious and important ICT trade shows across the world.
Since December 1999, this successful program has supported more than 480 local companies to travel to more than 40 countries. In 2006, Victorian ICT companies exported more than $1 billion worth of ICT equipment and services.
