Technology Trade and International Partnering (TRIP) Program - ICT

The Technology TRIP Program - ICT provides grants for export-ready Victorian ICT companies to attend recognised overseas trade shows and events.
The program supports Victorian ICT companies to take their products to the world and establish international partnerships.
Companies may access the program up to three times in a financial year. Networker grants can only be accessed four times over two financial years.
No late applications will be considered.

Am I eligible for a grant?
|
It is likely that you will be eligible if you are an export-ready business that is:
|
- a commercial Victorian company with less than 200 employees
|
- working primarily in the ICT sector, including telecommunications, interactive applications, creative content and specialist manufacturing
|
- based and headquartered in Victoria
|
- not a subsidiary of a foreign company
|
- producing products and services in Victoria, that have an Australian content of at least 50% of the total sales value and will be exported from Victoria
|
- able to submit an approved Export Plan or project plan and samples of promotional materials to be distributed at the trade event you are attending
|
- attending a trade event that has an exhibition component
|
- attending an industry event that is relevant to your business
|
- travelling to a meeting or event overseas with the expectation of confirming a significant sales contract.

|
You will be asked to declare that alternative funding of the same expenses has not been sought or obtained.

What trade shows and events are supported?
|
Victorian ICT companies can apply for grant assistance to attend a trade show or event that is relevant to their business. Events must have an expo component.

What categories of funding are available?
|
| | | | A person representing an eligible Victorian ICT company, that is traveling to a meeting or event overseas with the expectation of confirming a significant new sales contract. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that the travel is essential to achieving substantial new export sales. The grant is for only one representative per company per event and may only be accessed once a year.
|
| Recovery of eligible expenses up to $2,500 max
|
| | A person representing an eligible ICT company attending an international ICT expo, or Victorian Government led business mission. This grant is a contribution towards airfares, accommodation and costs of trade event entry for one person per company.
|

| Exhibitor in a shared stand
|
| An eligible Victorian ICT company will share an exhibition stand with a multinational company, an industry association, an educational institution or an Australian government agency. The grant is a contribution towards the cost of the company attending the event. It includes airfares, accommodation, stand and promotional costs.
|
| 50% recovery of eligible expenses up to $4,000 max
|
| | An eligible Victorian ICT company that has committed to sponsor a recognised industry conference. The grant is a contribution towards the cost of the company attending the event, which may or may not have an exhibition component. It includes airfares, accommodation, stand (if appropriate) and promotional costs.

| 50% recovery of eligible expenses up to $4,000 max
|
| | An eligible Victorian ICT company exhibiting at an international expo in a non-shared stand. The grant is a contribution towards the cost of the company attending the event. It includes airfares, accommodation, stand and promotional costs.
|
| 50% recovery of eligible expenses up to $8,000
|
| | A representative entity of a cluster of Victorian ICT companies attending an international expo. The grant is a contribution towards the cost of the company attending the event. It includes airfares, accommodation, stand and promotional costs.

| 50% recovery of eligible expenses up to $10,000
|
| First-time sole exhibitor
|
| An eligible Victorian ICT company that will exhibit at an international expo and has never before accessed the program. The grant provides an additional incentive to exhibit and assistance to develop promotional materials. The grant is a contribution towards airfares, accommodation, exhibition stand costs and the cost of promotional materials.This grant can only be accessed once.

Export Plans and Project Plans Requirements

Export Plans
|
An Approved Export Plan is required to be submitted for all funding categories (except a Group Exhibitor Grant). An approved export plan may include:
|
- A Department of Business and Innovation Grow Your Business Program - Business Development Plan delivered by Victorian Business Centres
|
- An Export Plan prepared by an industry association, government body or private sector provider such as VECCI, AiGroup or the City of Melbourne
|
- An Export Plan prepared by the company itself
|
Project Plans

Applications for a Group Exhibitor Grant must include an Approved Project Plan.
