Victoria.NET is focused on developing a world leading, industry led .NET cluster in Victoria that will facilitate close working linkages between Victorian organisations concerned with Web Services. .NET is the Microsoft framework for Web Services and component software.
The .NET cluster will ensure Victoria's IT professionals are at the cutting edge of .NET platform development. The cluster is supported by the State Government of Victoria, Microsoft and Intel.
Victoria.NET's mission is to:

- Establish a successful ongoing ITC industry cluster around Microsoft .NET and XML web service technologies
|
- Maintain and establish Victoria's position as a centre of excellence for these technologies
|
- Promote Victoria nationally and internationally as the place to undertake .NET projects
|
- Promote Microsoft .Net as a preferred technology platform in this arena.

The Victorian Government provided $80,000 seed funding through the Next Wave program to establish the .NET cluster. There are currently about 400 member organisations.
