Victorian eLearning Network

The Victorian Government has an innovative eLearning industry development initiative, World Class Business - Growing Victoria's eLearning Industry designed to support and promote the eLearning industry in Victoria. It aims to consolidate and extend the capabilities of Victoria's eLearning industry and to capitalise on the State's enormous eLearning potential.

Victorian eLearning Industry Association

The eLearning Industry Association of Victoria was officially launched in October 2006 to provide a focused voice for both the industry and consumers of eLearning, at a local, national and international level.

Vendors of both systems and content to the eLearning market, corporations using elearning to achieve their training outcomes, K-12 digital publishers, TAFE institutions, tertiary education providers offering elearning and producers creating elearning for the corporate, public sector and educational markets are invited to join the association.

Victorians attend BETT 2008

BETT is the world's leading educational information and communications technology (ICT) event, with over 20 years dedicated to showcasing the best in UK and international educational technology products, resources and best practice

BETT 2008 took place from 9 - 12 January, 2008 at Olympia in London attracting 700 educational suppliers and more than 30000 visitors. It brings together the global teaching and learning community for four days of innovations and inspirations.

In 2008, 12 Victorian eLearning companies attended BETT, further consolidating Victoria's reputation as the home of excellence in eLearning.

World Class Business: Growing Victoria's eLearning Industry


In 2004 the Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Marsha Thomson, launched the Government's strategy to grow the eLearning industry

Highlights of the strategy include:


  • Creating economies of scale by promoting collaboration in the eLearning sector
  • Stimulating local demand by raising awareness and improving infrastructure that supports eLearning
  • Improving global competitiveness with international standards and facilitating access to overseas markets.
